| 1612 Polyester Printed Circuit Board Plating Mask | |||
| 1612 is a translucent green tape based on polyester film with a heavy coating of specially formulated translucent silicone adhesive. The adhesive is approximately four times thicker than that of conventional tapes made for a similar gauge base film. Application; 1612 is specifically designed for use as a stop-off mask in tin/lead stripping and precious metal plating in the manufacture of printed circuit boards. 1612 has a number of advantages; the thickness of the adhesive allows it to flow between the conductors giving a well defined stop-off line and reduced undercutting. The tapes does not require heated roller application or oven heating to perform satisfactorily and can be easily applied by hand or machine. The adhesive resists plating bath chemicals without the risk of contaminating them. The translucency of the tape simplifies accurate positioning on the board. When the tape is used for solder strip masking it can often be left in position for subsequent precious metal plating. 1612 can be easily removed without leaving adhesive deposits on the board. | |||
