| 4354 has a backing of laminated polyester film and special creped paper. This results in high mechanical strength and excellent insulating properties. 4354 mould well to uneven surfaces and withstands high mechanical stress. It is largely resistant against impregnating agents and most solvents. This resistance can be increased by pre-heating after application for 3h at 120 degrees C or 1hr at 150 degrees C. Applications; construction of transformers and electric motors, insulation of soldered joints and lead-ins, final bandage for protection of the outer layer, shaft insulation for armatures, insulation of thermostats in end-windings of 3 phase motors. |
